Açaí is a palm tree that can be found on various locations of the Amazon region. It is mainly sought for the production of juices, ice creams, pies, and food, generally extracted from the pulp of the fruit. It is highly nutritive and energetic, with a peculiar flavor. Andiroba

Carapa Guaianensis Seed Oil

 The Andiroba tree grows on the extensive Amazon region. The tree produces fragrant flowers and visually resembles the chestnut. The flowers are white and grow in clusters, and the seeds are polyhedral with a curved face. The natives of the Rain Forest used to pile these nuts at open space to let them ferment, allowing the shell to break, and the oil to be drained out of the pulp. They used this oil for the treatment of the skin, muscular inflammations, and as a repellent against insect bites due to its effective repellent action with no smell.

Properties:  Known for anti-inflammatory and renewing actions promoted by limmonoids and as a treatment for the hair scalp.

Annatto

Bixa Orellana Seed Oil

 The Annato oil is obtained by maceration and percolation of the seed of Bixa Orellana.

The Annato oil is also used as a natural coloring in creams, lotions, sunscreens products, or as a support to the sun filters due to its composition of carotenoids (though without any activity of Vitamin A).

 Properties:  Due to its composition of carotenoids acts as a sun blocker. Promotes topical calming action.

Brazil Nut

Bertholletia Excelsa Seed Oil

 The Brazil nut tree is found on the northern region of the nation. The fruit is highly nutritive, containing approximately 67% of the oil obtained after it is pressed, filtered and refined.

Buriti

Mauritia Flexuosa Fruit Oil

 According to Brazilian folklore and the designation made by the naturalist Humbolt, BURITI means the "tree of life" because most  human necessities can be supplied by this vegetable.

It can be used in cosmetic applications because of its richness of  unsaturated fatty acids, and it is considered an important source of arytenoids, natural pigments responsible for oxygen transportation and absorption of luminous energy.

Camu Camu has never been documented as a traditional herbal remedy for any condition in the Amazon region. Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter

 The Cupuaçu tree can be found in the northern region of Brazil.  The butter is extracted from the seeds.  The obtained product presents a white-yellowish color and is totally deodorized. It has a high capacity of water absorption, about 240% superior to the Lanolin and some sterols of animal and vegetable origins. Cupuaçu butter is an emollient that provides a pleasant touch with softness to the skin, facilitating the natural humidity and elasticity with great efficiency in dry and battered skins.

The Cupuaçu butter contains phytosterols, which act at a cellular level by regulating the activity of the lipids on the superficial layer of skin. Astrocaryum Murumuru Butter

The MURUMURU tree has a trunk that can vary from 2 to 6 meters tall, and a 25 to 30 centimeters diameter, filled with sharp and black spines that can reach up to 12 centimeters. It usually grows on clayey soils, preferably close to big shadows on the native Amazonian forests, although it can be also found on the fertile firm terrain. Passiflora Edulis Seed Oil

The passion fruit is cultivated mainly in Brazil, Peru and Colombia.The oil is obtained when its seeds are cold-pressed, holding approximately 3% of an aromatic and brown-reddish oil. Later, the oil obtained is filtered and refined, increasing its quality on regard of color and odor. The Passion Fruit's Oil belongs to the raw materials of enormous attraction to the cosmetic industries.

Pequi

Caryocar Brasiliense Fruit Oil

The tree, a perennial, which has a gnarled appearance, with rough, wrinkled bark, reaches a height of up to 10 metres. Its leaves are hairy, each one split into three parts, with scalloped edges; its flowers are large and yellow. The fruits each contain between 1 and 4 seeds. The pericarp is thick, fleshy and green-yellow coloured, containing approximately 36% of tannic acid based Pyrogalol.

Almost every part of the tree can be used. The density of the wood, which is yellow-brown, very fibrous and durable, lends itself to tough, rugged applications, such as those requiring resistance to pressure or crushing, or which need to be long lasting. For example it is used in civil and naval construction work, support for pile drivers, etc.

It is fresh and dry fruit skin can replace gallnut in the preparation of  greenish-black ink for handwriting and dry-cleaning.

The Caryacar Genus is Brazilian origin, comprising approximately 20 species, scattered throughout the country, mainly in the north, north eastern and central western regions, extending to the Amazon, Para, Maranhao, Piaui, Goias and Ceara.

The Ucuúba or Pau de sebo (Virola sebifera), is a medium to large size tree and distinguishes itself from the others due to its yellowish colored flowers and trees.
The fruit are smooth, greenish, spherical, bi-lobed capsules, that dehisce at maturity, liberating the seeds. These have thin, loose, papery rinds, brown at maturity, blackening with time
